Events List for August 27, 2012

Just a reminder…

The posted events are open to all homeschoolers in the St. Louis, MO, area (including St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, Franklin County, and Jefferson County in MO, and Madison County, Monroe County, and St. Clair County in IL, and surrounding regions). Those marked with an asterisk (*) do not take place within the target area for this list, but are open to all homeschoolers who live in the target area. NOTE: Inclusion in this list does not necessarily indicate endorsement by the blog owner. I try to include as many events or classes I know of in the Greater St. Louis area that would be of special interest to homeschoolers. Some of these events come from a distinctively “Christian” perspective, while others are purely “secular” in nature. If you see things that you would not be particularly interested in, just ignore them and look for the things that do appeal to you.

More  information about area events can be found at  https://stlouishomeschoolevents.wordpress.com/  and check the Ongoing Offerings section for homeschool specific links to many area attractions. And you can always use the search feature to look through all past posts and any pages. Please feel free to forward this email to other homeschoolers and encourage them to join the email loop; sign up is at the top of the right column.  My contact information is available at the bottom of this post if you have any questions and please let me know if you find incorrect/out of date information with the current changes.

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD
Hi-Pointe Theater, 1005 McCausland Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63117
1st Tuesday, September 4th 1:30pm
2nd Saturday, September 8th 10:30am
Admission $5.00
Let’s take a literary turn this month as we bask in the gentle wisdom of Harper Lee’s insightful story, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD. This 1962 film is brilliantly acted and directed, a joy to behold.
On an historic note, our story is set in a small southern town in the early 1930’s….10 years after the Hi-Pointe Theatre was built in St. Louis. 40 years later this award winning film will be playing at our favorite theatre on the corner of McCausland and Clayton. Viewed by many of our parents and grandparents within the very same walls, it will be fun to relive the experience.
