Fun Way to Study Missouri!
A note from one of our Expo exhibitors:
On facebook I have a new imaginary persona of an expert on Missouri history, geography, etc. My new character is named Miss Ouri and she helps students, parents, and teachers with their questions about the Show-Me State. I don’t sell books or anything like that on this page – it’s just to help the kids, parents, and teachers and make the learning a little deeper and a little more fun.
Please check Miss Ouri out by visiting facebook and typing her name at the top. Then, if you do have and e-mail list, you might like to pass the information along. I have also added the link to that facebook page here.

During the course of the season, the team will participate in six swim meets that will be located in the St. Louis surrounding area. EntrepreLAUNCH will contain seven two-hour sessions, each featuring an entrepreneur from seven different fields. Each entrepreneur will talk about his passion for his/her business, what skills they needed how their faith guided and encouraged them. There will be Q & A for each session. These sessions will encourage participants in how to navigate the process of starting and running a business.

iGovern
At Generation Joshua, a division of HSLDA, our programs and activities are designed to complement and further the efforts that parents make to ensure that their kids are equipped to be thinkers, leaders, and active citizens in their nation. That is why we want to tell you about an exciting opportunity for your 14–19-year-old. We’re inviting you to send your student to one of our iGovern Summer Leadership camps!
What is iGovern?
Each year, Generation Joshua hosts three camps at different locations across the country. These camps combine civic education, leadership training, and a Christ-centered understanding of government into one unforgettable experience called iGovern.
At camp, students take part in realistic and detailed government simulations. Your student can become a Senator, a Representative, or even a foreign ambassador to our international summit.
Outside of the political simulation, students will hear inspiring messages from the GenJ staff and nationally-known conservative leaders.
At Generation Joshua, we approach all student interactions with a heart for encouragement and ministry. Every day, the GenJ chapel team leads the camp in heartfelt times of worship and powerful messages from God’s word. In addition to the main chapel and worship times, each night includes prayer and Bible-study in a small-group setting.
When & Where?
We are hosting three iGovern Leadership Camps this year. Here are the details:
iGovern East: July 6th–12th at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, Virginia.
iGovern West: July 20th–26th at Bear Trap Ranch in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
iGovern Pacific: August 3rd–9th at Camp Pu’u Kahea in Oahu, Hawaii.
Bottom Line:
Go here to learn more, and please email us at generationjoshua@hslda.org if we can answer any questions for you.
In Christ,
Joel Grewe
Director of Generation Joshua

If you know of an event, class, happening, or link you would like to see added, please contact me at zana8796 [at] yahoo [dot] com  Comments are not available, but sharing is.
The posted events are open to all homeschoolers in the St. Louis, MO, area (including St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, Lincoln County, Franklin County, and Jefferson County in MO, and Madison County, Monroe County, and St. Clair County in IL, and surrounding regions).
NOTE: Inclusion in this list does not necessarily indicate endorsement by the blog owner. I try to include as many events or classes I know of in the Greater St. Louis area that would be of special interest to homeschoolers. Some of these events come from a distinctively “Christian” perspective, while others are purely “secular” in nature. If you see things that you would not be particularly interested in, just ignore them and look for the things that do appeal to you.
