Memorial Homeschooling Cooperative
Memorial Coop is a homeschooling coop that meets on Wednesdays from 9:10-12:10. We meet at Memorial Presbyterian Church on Skinker across from Forest Park. We have classes for 3 year old through 4th grade, as well as nursery playtime for those under two. Right now, we would especially love to add 3rd and 4th graders! (and, of course, their siblings would be welcome!).
We start with Morning Assembly where we learn a Bible passage and song all together, which the children perform at the end of the semester Exhibition. Then, we have two classes which swap, an hour of Science and an hour of Art, with recess and snack in the middle.
This coming school year we are planning to have Botany and Physics for the 1st-4th graders in the Fall. And learning about painting in Art.
Highlights for the MHC 2015-2016 School Year:
-Our school year will start the Wednesday BEFORE Labor Day and finish the second week in May. Our Co-op hours are from 9:15am to 12:05pm.
-Our Welcome/Back To School Picnic is currently scheduled for August 29. This will allow students to reacquaint themselves with each other, meet their teachers, and tour the building.
-We will be offering classes for students 3 years old (by Sept 1st) through 4th grade. (With a nursery for those under three.)
>The Preschool group will have playtime, snack and an hour long class.
>The Pre-K(4yrs) – 4th grade will have two 1 hour long classes with a break for snack and recreation in the middle.

The posted events are open to all homeschoolers in the St. Louis, MO, area (including St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, Lincoln County, Franklin County, and Jefferson County in MO, and Madison County, Monroe County, and St. Clair County in IL, and surrounding regions).
NOTE: Inclusion in this list does not necessarily indicate endorsement by the blog owner. I try to include as many events or classes I know of in the Greater St. Louis area that would be of special interest to homeschoolers. Some of these events come from a distinctively “Christian” perspective, while others are purely “secular” in nature. If you see things that you would not be particularly interested in, just ignore them and look for the things that do appeal to you.
