Attention children of earth! Your mission is to help mankind by drawing comics! Yes, society needs you! Do you have what it takes? Do you like to draw? Do your parents need a break every week? If so, then this Kids Comic Workshop is for you! Webster Groves resident and comic artist, Todd Tevlin, offers a six week course that will teach the basics of cartooning and comic strips to 8-12 year old children.
This course includes character design, speech bubbles, motion lines, panel layout, writing stories, drawing a single, three panel, and finally six panel comic of their very own. There will also be fun group activities for the kids as well! Each week is one hour long and the price per child is $60 for entire course, which includes all materials.
If interested, please visit and fill out the Homeschool specific registration form. He is capable of holding the course during the day on weekdays, which is perfect for homeschoolers! Ideal class size is around 10 kids, but can take more. Once enough people express interest, he will look at where everyone lives and find a venue to hold the event that is convenient for everyone and will also work on a start day/time. Any questions feel free to ask!
For those around Webster Groves, he will be conducting this workshop at The Novel Neighbor bookstore starting October 3rd. More info on that class can be found at the link above as well. Thank you!

Please visit and check the Ongoing Offerings section for homeschool specific links to many area attractions. And don’t forget to check out the top tabs too! The posted events are open to all homeschoolers in the St. Louis, MO, area (including St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, Lincoln County, Franklin County, and Jefferson County in MO, and Madison County, Monroe County, and St. Clair County in IL, and surrounding regions).
NOTE: Inclusion in this list does not necessarily indicate endorsement by the blog owner. I try to include as many events or classes I know of in the Greater St. Louis area that would be of special interest to homeschoolers. Some of these events come from a distinctively “Christian” perspective, while others are purely “secular” in nature. If you see things that you would not be particularly interested in, just ignore them and look for the things that do appeal to you.
