Hands-on-Geometry
fall semester
Becca says… “We are going to draw, construct and experiment with geometric shapes and numbers. We’ll discover how God has worked these shapes throughout nature and look for ways we as people have used them in art, architecture, and our everyday world around us. This will be a fascinating and mind-stretching hands-on class. Please sign-up and join the fun!”
The class is offered at from 1:00 – 2:00 pm on Tuesday or Thursday will run for 13 weeks. The cost is only $75 per student (all materials included). Most of the students signing up are about ages 6 –12, but all ages can enjoy the exploration! Class begins on Tuesday, September 15 or Thursday, September 17 (Note: Becca’s classes start a week later than Homelink or P.E.).
The class times are designed to correspond with the Salvation Army Homeschool P.E. Program classes and will meet in a classroom in the same building (824 Union Rd., St. Louis MO 63125). You do not have to be a P.E. student to participate.
If interested, contact Becca at cbhubbard@htc.net or 618-281-4944 and let her know the age of your student and what day would work best for you. She needs feedback to finalize the classes!
Becca Hubbard is a wonderful teacher and her enrichment classes come highly recommended! Remember…she is also available for tutoring in a variety of subjects. Here is her bio:
This is Becca Hubbard’s 28th year of teaching and the seventh year she has offered elementary enrichment classes to the St. Louis homeschool community. Becca’s degree is in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois, and her teaching experience has ranged from pre-K through adult education in public school, Christian school, Sylvan Learning Centers, and private tutoring. Becca has been the moderator for the St. Louis Area Homeschool Geography Bee for the past five years and is married to long-time Homeschool P.E. teacher Cort Hubbard.
We are SO grateful to super-teachers Becca and Cort for their tireless support and ministry to the homeschool community! Don’t miss the opportunity to take a class from them! Kerrie & Cathy

It’s Hayride Season!
Schools are back in session, cooler temperatures are just around the corner and nothing celebrates fall like a hayride! St. Louis County Parks is once again offering a wide variety of hayrides that are perfect for all ages, interests and abilities.
Some of our hayrides include live music and bonfires, others are perfect for those history buffs who want to learn more about our United States military or life in the 1800s. One thing they all have in common is that they provide up-close and personal views of our beautiful parks and the wildlife that live there.
Last year we introduced our new ADA Haywagon which was designed and built by St. Louis County Parks employees. This new haywagon allows those with disabilities that require a wheelchair or a walker to easily get on and off the wagon and be able to enjoy a hayride, some for the very first time.
We hope you will join us at one or more of our hayrides this year!

The posted events are open to all homeschoolers in the St. Louis, MO, area (including St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, Lincoln County, Franklin County, and Jefferson County in MO, and Madison County, Monroe County, and St. Clair County in IL, and surrounding regions).
NOTE: Inclusion in this list does not necessarily indicate endorsement by the blog owner. I try to include as many events or classes I know of in the Greater St. Louis area that would be of special interest to homeschoolers. Some of these events come from a distinctively “Christian” perspective, while others are purely “secular” in nature. If you see things that you would not be particularly interested in, just ignore them and look for the things that do appeal to you.
