Homeschool Baseball
The St. Louis Patriots homeschool baseball organization is forming teams for the Fall 2016 season. If your son is interested in playing baseball, please send his name and date of birth to Patriots’ director, Mark Valle, by July 15 at: stlpatsbaseball@att.net You can learn more about the Patriots at www.stlpatriotsbaseball.com

HOMESCHOOL SUPPORT & INFORMATION MEETING
The SHARE annual Homeschool Helps Workshop Day is a great place to find answers, guidance, and support. We try to fit as much valuable information as possible into one summer day! We want to answer your FAQ’s and help everyone prepare for the upcoming school year. Please mark your calendars and feel free to come. The workshops are free and open to everyone…including non-homeschoolers and non-SHARE members.
The workshops will take place on Saturday, July 30, 2016 and will be held at Lighthouse Christian Fellowship, 7717 Big Bend Blvd., Webster Groves MO 63119.  The church is centrally located near Hwy 44 and 40 and has plenty of space and AC! (Same location as in past years).
See all the details (in blue) below about the two workshops. The first one is a New Home Educators Workshop (for pre-school – 7th grade) from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, and the second is our High School Helps Seminar (for 7th – 12th grade) from 1:00 – 4:00 pm.  Parents of jr. high students are welcome to attend both seminars, but those jr. high families that have been homeschooling for a few years will probably find the morning session unnecessary. The afternoon session would be a good fit for both newbies and veterans with jr. high students. Remember – it is wise to start planning for the high school years BEFORE they arrive!
Both workshops are free but REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. We need to know how many are attending so that we can prepare enough handouts and decide what rooms to use.
To register, go to www.sharehomeschool.com. Click on HOMESCHOOL HELPS WORKSHOPS on the top bar– click on “Here” and a description of the workshop with registration at the bottom will appear.
Register all people who will be coming and be sure to indicate which session(s) you are attending. Please write any questions you have in the appropriate box. It is very helpful for us to get your questions ahead of time!
Sorry – there is no childcare for this event but nursing babies are allowed, of course. You are welcome to bring a sack lunch or snacks to eat in the Lighthouse Fellowship Hall, or stop by one of the area restaurants (There are quite a few in the neighborhood).

Metro-East Co-ops
Hello! We have emailed previously about Collinsville Homeschool Co-op, CHC, and what it has been offering to homeschool families on the Illinois side of the region. Sadly due to facility issues, CHC will no longer be offering homeschool classes.
I am excited to say that a smaller class group has formed and will begin offering opportunities for this fall. Community Academy will be serving homeschool families in the Metro a East with educational and enrichment classes two afternoons per week through a new partnership with the Edwardsville YMCA and SIUE. Spanish, science, art, and PE for students in grades K-12.
More details can be found in our Facebook group, https://www.facebook.com/groups/communityaca, or by emailing communityaca@gmail.com.
The other is called Legacy Cooperative, and will meet on Fridays from 9:15 A.M. – 2:30 P.M. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Collinsville, IL. If you have further questions, you may contact Legacy Cooperative at legacycooperative@gmail.com.

Cottage School
Wednesdays, from 9am – 3pm at The Pavilion at Lemay and serves Grades K-5
I am so grateful to live in an area with such a large homeschooling population and the many programs available for support – many of which I use myself! However, there are certain things I wanted for my own young children that I wasn’t finding anywhere else. I’ve always loved Classical, Charlotte Mason, Waldorf, and Montessori approaches, and so I created a cottage school that I hope incorporates the best of these methods in a way that offers a high-level of quality but also affordability. It has been a long road in the making, but I feel God has opened doors that will allow us to provide a great service to the local homeschooling and alternative education community. Please check out our website to learn more, and we’d love to hear any feedback. Thanks!! Michelle Perjak amblesidestl.com

The posted events are open to all homeschoolers in the St. Louis, MO, area (including St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, Lincoln County, Franklin County, and Jefferson County in MO, and Madison County, Monroe County, and St. Clair County in IL, and surrounding regions).
NOTE: Inclusion in this list does not necessarily indicate endorsement by the blog owner. I try to include as many events or classes I know of in the Greater St. Louis area that would be of special interest to homeschoolers. Some of these events come from a distinctively “Christian” perspective, while others are purely “secular” in nature. If you see things that you would not be particularly interested in, just ignore them and look for the things that do appeal to you.
