Metro East Homeschool Winter Dance

Come shake your winter blues away! Homeschool students 8th grade and up can join us for dancing, games, hot chocolate, cupcakes, and more fun. The dance will be held Friday, Feb. 2, at Christ Church (Scott Campus) 4091 Illinois Rt. 161, Belleville IL 62221. Tickets are $5 in advance, $7 at the door. Go to to pay by 2/1 and save!

Childgrove Country Dancers Family Dance

All are welcome: young and old, new dancers and experienced ones! Bring yourself and your children or grandchildren. We call simple, fun dances anyone can do to live music. All of the dances are designed so that children who are uncomfortable dancing with people they don’t know yet can stay with the person they chose to dance with – a parent, grandparent or friend.

DO I HAVE TO KNOW HOW? No prior experience is necessary to enjoy the dance. All of the dances are taught and walked through, and when the music plays, the caller continues to prompt the dances. There is usually much laughter and fun, and “mistakes” are treated as a part of that fun.

WHO: Children and adults of all ages are welcome. We’ve seen 4-year-olds who get awfully good at this, but it’s probably better for children age 6 and up. We choose dances that are fun for kids to do with their parents or each other, so please come prepared to join in!

WHEN: The Family Dance is from 3:00-4:30pm on Sunday, February 4, 2018.

WHERE: The Monday Club at 37 South Maple in Webster Groves.

FEE: Children, $3 each // Adults accompanied by children, $5 each // Families – maximum $16 // Unaccompanied Adults: $7 (includes the Contra Dance at 7pm that night)

Raise the Roof” from Dayspring Arts & Education

Music in the 90s reflected the individuality and general consciousness of the misfits who defined this decade. Asserting their uniqueness, artists pioneered and stretched the boundaries of many genres. The music students of Rebecca Garcia, along with DaySpring’s Dance Department and a live professional band, have worked hard preparing for this concert that will surely entertain!
