Beth Bachman writes….

Hello,

I hope you have all are having a good Summer. I have a great opportunity for Home Schooled Students for this fall. As a former HomeSchooling mom and Physical Therapist, I have, for the past 25 years, partnered with the Washington University School of Physical Therapy to bring together our students and the Washington University PT students so the PT students can practice their posture evaluations in the PT lab with their professors.

Briefly, this is a Physical Therapy class in their doctorate program at Washington University who practice their posture evaluation skills on our children in classroom setting. It takes place in an open lab and moms are welcome to sit in the lab near their child during the eval. The location is 4444 Forest Park Blvd., just past the old Jewish Hospital building (BJC North). I will send directions and more details to those attending. Would your2nd-6th grade child(ren) like to participate?

Can you please reply to this email address,bethbachman1999@gmail.com and let me know if you are available for the Posture Evals for this Fall and which date(s) work best for you.

This year we will have 4 different dates with 10 students for each date. Please hit “REPLY” and let me know which dates you can attend. You must register with me to be able to attend.

Lab #1: Wednesday, Aug 22 from 1-3 pm

Lab #2: Wednesday, Sept 5 from 1-3 pm

Lab #3: Friday, Sept 14 from 8-10-am

Lab #4: Wednesday, Sept 19 from 1-3 pm

Payment: The home school students will be reimbursed $30 for every 2 students in a family. So if there’s one student in a family participating, they will get a check for $30/class. If there are 2 students in a family, they will split the $30/class. If there are 3 students in a family participating, they will receive two $30 checks/session.

Again, if you are able to participate this fall, please check your calendars and reply to this email address now to let me know if you are available for 1,2,3, or all 4 of the dates.

8/23 – MO – Homeschool Open House at Lacefield Music

My name is Faith Joyce, and I’m a homeschool alumni and musician myself, and have experienced the lifelong benefits of a quality music education. It is my passion, and Lacefield’s mission, to foster comprehensive musicianship in the next generation of children.

That’s why I’m excited to let you know about a new opportunity Lacefield has to offer homeschoolers. This month we are launching a Yamaha Music School at our South County location, and we want your homeschool group to get in on the action! The school will offer Yamaha Music Education System (YMES) courses, as well as private instruction in piano, voice, and guitar. We are also pleased to offer these courses at our St. Charles location.

Please join us on Thursday, August 23rd, from 10am to 12pm, for a Homeschool Open House. You’ll get a chance to learn about the YMES program, meet our teachers, get a free preview lesson, and have the opportunity to enroll for the fall semester.

10/1 – Magic House Homeschool Morning

Once again the Magic House is graciously opening its doors so that only homeschoolers may attend.

However, due to poor attendance last year, we have been reduced to 3 days instead of 4.

Please continue to patronize these special days or we could lose them altogether.

Time: 9:30am until 11:30am

The Educational entrance on the lower level is where we are to enter (unless otherwise directed). No passes are allowed. Cash and credit cards are accepted. There will be two lines. When looking at the building the credit line will be toward the right (near the construction play area) and the cash line will be toward the left (under the trellis).

Please remember you are to stay with your children at all times – no one is allowed to be unattended. Remember no running is allowed. All morning drinks must be finished prior to entering the Magic House (closed water bottles are accepted). There is a coat rack on the second floor near the Bubble room/Blues area so please do not feel you need to stand in line and freeze during colder weather prior to entry.

Please share these dates with other homeschool families that would love to attend. Have a great time knowing that only trusted homeschoolers and workers are in the building. This gives your children the freedom to learn and exercise while you visit with another mom you know or get to know someone new.

Please email any questions that you might have to Michelle Sifford at: michellesifford@gmail.com Special thanks to Michelle for setting this up and moderating it again this year!!!
